I have admired those adorable teaching blogs that so many of my fellow colleagues out in Cyberspace have been sharing and thought it was time for me to start sharing the wealth. So, I hope to share ideas, tips, hints, encouragements, deals, and anything else I would want to be "in the know" about if I didn't already know.
First, here is a quick background on where I have been on my journey as an educator. I taught special education for three years in an inclusive model. Over the span of that time I had the opportunity to co-teach in K, 2, 3, & 5. Then, I decided it was time for a change, so I switched to the general education side and taught third grade for two years. In a few short weeks I will be starting my first year as a first grade teacher. I am excited to gain experience with another grade, but scared at the same time.
Over the course of this year, I hope to document my journey through this blog. I also hope to share some things I have created with others who may find them useful.
I made a big decision today. I chose a class pet for the school year. Last year my room had a pirate theme and I purchased a stuffed parrot from
